I fell in love with rode and mtbs in 1986. My first race was in 1988 and I was hooked.

I began working in bike shops from 1989.

Since then I’ve competed in countless events from local club racing to 12hr solo mtb and 24hr team races.

As far as my career in the cycling industry goes , I’ve gone from mechanic and sales to shop manager and store owner.

I’ve worked at mtb World Cup and the mtb World Championships.

Now I bring over thirty years of passion and experience from both bicycle mechanics and competition to a new workshop in Canberra’s inner north.

James (Jimmy) Quinton

He says – “ I have been a bicycle mechanic for 17 years. i started out riding BMX and Mountain bikes then moved to road bikes. i have been competitive in both road and mountain bikes at a high level. as a mechanic the one thing i love to do is repairing bikes to near new condition and listening to customers comments and feedback on the quality of the work.”

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT RIDERS SAY
I would definitely recommend Crankys. I was able to book my older road bike in on short notice for a service and to fit a few bits and pieces that I supplied. Whilst I didn’t have all the right components, Stu was able to source and fit the parts I needed (and saved the handlebar tape!). Stu was also able to explain all the work to me all for a competitive price.

Karl Josef

Stuart recently did a big daddy service on my mountain bike and i could not be happier. It’s clear that he is a very skilled and experienced bike mechanic and my bike has come back feeling better than new! very happy customer.

John Baczyński

While Stu is one of the best mechanics when it comes to complicated repairs he never turns anyone away. He takes a great deal of pride in his work and you can guarantee that you bike will run better after he has done his magic.
